The Blairstown Business Association has established
a Grant Program for high school graduating seniors who have
demonstrated a desire to pursue a career in the field of business.
By establishing this Grant Program, the Blairstown Business
Association demonstrates its commitment to nurturing the next
generation of excellent leaders in the field of business.
Criteria and Requirements:
Each of the two (2) Grants will award the recipients $500
to be used in the pursuit of a career in business. The nominees
must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Reside in Blairstown, Frelinghuysen, Knowlton, or Hardwick
- Be a high school graduating, full-time senior
- Maintain a grade average of C or better
- Pursue a career in business
Each grantee will be required to submit the following to the
Blairstown Business Association Grant Committee:
- A Grant Application
- A personal essay OR a business plan (double-spaced)
- A high school transcript
- A Letter of Recommendation from either a teacher, a guidance
counselor, a school administrator, or a business employer
The selection of the Grant recipients will be based on the
following criteria:
- Potential for excellence in the field of business and
commitment to the profession as indicated by the Letter
of Recommendation and personal essay or business plan
- Agreement by each recipient to present a verbal or written report
to the Blairstown Business Association. The report will summarize how the Grant benefited
each recipient in pursuit of a business career
Applications should be forwarded to the student's high school
Guidance Department in accordance with the timeframe set
by the Department. Applications can also be downloaded
here or by contacting the Blairstown Business Association,
P. O. Box 398, Blairstown, NJ 07825, Attention: BBA Grant
Program. Applications sent directly to the Blairstown Business
Association must be postmarked no later than the second Monday
in April.
Grantees will be notified by their high school Guidance Department
and in writing by the Blairstown Business Association. Each
Grant in the amount of $500 will be presented to the recipient
by the respective high school. |
